Stephanie K’s Online Diary
Stephanie K is Ms. Diva
riday night, I decided to pull out my Halloween costume from 2 years ago and be THAT person who dresses up in costume for opening night of a movie. Thus, in 80 degree weather, at 7 oclock at night, I spawned my red-striped sweater dress, brown hat and, of course, claw.
I was Ms. Freddy Krueger!
Many people stopped me to applaud my efforts and compliment the look. I got a few “wow, she’s weird!” comments from people…but hey…that’s me! I am weird and crazy! And despite the fact that the remake of Nightmare on Elm Street can’t even compare to the original (it’s so hard to step to a horror movie of the 80’s!), I had a great time prancing around in my leather boots and scaring people with my glove.
I didn’t do the burned face make-up, though. So I guess you could call me Fierce Freddy

I received the following message from a MySpace fan yesterday:
Apr 6, 2010 1:05 PM
..Hey Steph K
So I heard the new Christina Aguilera song and thought it was OK, but damn let me be frank, Trouble and Famewhore are the two best pop songs I’ve discovered this year. You fucking rock, keep it real and keep it edgy.
Messages like this mean the world to me and are indescribably motivating. As Wayne Campbell said in Wayne’s World, “It will be mine..oh yes…it will be mine…” LOL
Have a wonderful day!
Oh, and if you didn’t see on my news page, my song “Slap Me In The Face” from my forthcoming album Good Intentions just received first runner-up in the prestigious 11th Annual Great American Song Contest! Rock on!

Upon waking up this morning, I became horribly distraught after hearing the news that 80s teen heartthrob Corey Haim died of an accidental overdose last night. Corey was my first crush and several of his movies, as in License to Drive and The Lost Boys, are some of my favorite movies of all time.
Even after Corey’s decline into drugs, I always hoped the best for him. I watched the A&E reality series, The Two Coreys, and prayed for his well being. I really believed that he could get himself back on track. Unfortunately, he was unable to kick his severe addictions.
He certainly touched my life in many ways and I sincerely hope he is at peace. Love you, Corey.

I’ve been in “quote mode” for the past few days. Hey, we all need some inspiration and motivation sometimes. Can’t hurt, right? :)
The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.
Arthur C. Clarke
Hope that strikes a chord with you as much as it did with me.

GREAT and INSPIRING quote by the one and only Lady GaGa:
I had a boyfriend who told me I’d never succeed, never be nominated for a Grammy, never have a hit song, and that he hoped I’d fail. I said to him, ‘Someday, when we’re not together, you won’t be able to order a cup of coffee at the fu*king deli without hearing or seeing me.
BOOM. I absolutely ADORE this quote.

Wanted to share a funny cartoon a friend sent me. It reminds me of some lyrics I wrote from my song “Famewhore”:
Every meal when I sit down to eat
I think, “What would happen if I choked on some meat?”
And every day when I drive in my car
I picture me crashing into the sidebar
A maniac, braniac, suicidal
The only American not watching Idol
Click the link and you will understand the association: See the cartoon here!
Oh and don’t forget to download “Famewhore” for absolutely free….Just cuz I love you:
DL Famewhore now for free!

Last Friday, I did a short performance for the Mardi Gras party for Between The Lines magazine at the Roostertail in Downtown Detroit. A few hundred people were in attendance and it was super fun…just two songs…but made me really miss hopping on stage, getting the crowd engaged and performing. It truly is the best feeling in the world.
I can’t wait to get my upcoming performance schedule/touring plans…and I hope to see all of you at a show!

Currently writing/rehearsing. I happened across a quote that I had saved from a long time ago and wanted to share it with all of my fans:
”It is better not to expect approval from people, because you’ll just be disappointed. You have to be who you are.”
–The Queen of Pop, Madonna
It is my new goal to think of that quote every single day. And if haters wanna hate, then it’s their loss, right?
