News

This past Thursday, I was privileged to sing the national anthem at the Detroit Tigers vs Los Angeles Angels game.  It was a beautiful summer day for baseball and the performance went wonderfully. I’m always very thrilled and humbled when asked to honor our country by singing the “Star-Spangled Banner.”  The packed crowd seemed to very much enjoy my rendition…but they didn’t enjoy the Tigers’ loss.  You can’t win ‘em all, I suppose!

My song “Story of a Broken Heart” won first place in the 14th Annual Great American Song Contest!

The GASC honors the best music from songwriters across the nation.  It is an honor to be recognized as the best in Pop from such an esteemed panel of judges (comprised of Grammy-winning producers, multi-platinum songwriters and industry mainstays).

What’s more, my song “Slap Me in the Face” also finished in the top 5 of the Adult contemporary genre!

1st Place in Pop…Top 5 finish in A/C. Not a bad day’s work!

Can you believe it?!  I have been doing the #OneMinuteSong Project for 500 days STRAIGHT!  Even with a hectic schedule, performing, recording, traveling and the occasional cold, I have managed to keep writing, recording and uploading a #OneMinuteSong based on YOUR topic suggestions EVERYDAY!

I started the #OneMinuteSong Project because I wanted a fun way to interact with my fans.  I know many of you have enjoyed the silly, unique and entertaining songs that I have written on a wide range of topics.  In honor of the 500th #OneMinuteSong, I would like to do something special. I am asking that everyone who has enjoyed watching the #OneMinuteSong Project click on the “Donate” button below and give at least $1.00, with 100% of the proceeds going to Ashley Moser, the young mom who, along with her 6-year-old daughter Veronica, was shot in the Aurora, Colorado movie theater shooting.  Young Veronica was killed in the massacre, and Ashley, who was pregnant at the time, miscarried and was left paralyzed from the waist down.  This tragedy happened last July, but Ashley is still living with the emotional pain of this horrific event every single day.  When I think of Ashley, a young woman of my age, it brings tears to my eyes;  a movie-lover who was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.  Her life has been drastically changed forever–but we can help.

If you’ve enjoyed the #OneMinuteSong Project, please donate to the Ashley Moser Special Needs Trust.  Every dollar counts!

Oh, and don’t worry…the #OneMinuteSong Project rages on!

IF YOU HAVE A TOPIC IDEA for an upcoming #OneMinuteSong, Email Me!  Please include your name and city, as each song now includes a shout-out to the person who suggested the topic.

We will soon be updating the website for an easier topic submission process and a database of all previous songs!  You can also reach me on Facebook and Twitter!

On November 15, I attended the 22nd Annual Los Angeles Music Awards at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood, California.  I was completely humbled and honored to win the award for National Vocal Performer of the Year out of over 10000 artists and bands!  To win such an incredible award from an organization which helped launch the careers of artists & bands like No Doubt, Katy Perry and Sugar Ray is such a thrill.

Perhaps I won’t be an “up & coming” artists for much longer :)

I’m currently in the studio recording new music.  Can’t wait to share it.  As always, thank you for your support and for joining me on this musical journey.
